Teacher Reactions

After a visit to her 2nd graders by Rocket’s Rangers, teacher Amanda Chilcher from Laguna Elementary had this to say:

“Part of what is learned in school is how to be a good citizen in the community.  It is written in Social Studies curriculum and Character Counts programs.  Rockets Rangers fits right into this aspect of learning and is essential for students in grades 2-4

It is engaging.  Let’s face it; young people love animals!  Most family households have one or more pets.  Learning how to care for them and other animals gives kids a sense of responsibility and empowerment.

In just one hour, kids are able to identify with other living beings in their community, put their creativity and art skills to good use, and set realistic goals that further their character development, all while helping homeless animals!

Humane education is lacking in our schools and inviting Barbara and Rocket to your classroom is one way to help children become kids of good character.”

Here is another reaction from Kallie Ambrose , 3rd Grade Teacher Cartwright Elementary School:

Our third graders loved the Rocket’s Rangers presentation.  Barb’s message

is clear, relevant, and her materials are bilingual! The way that Barb
interacts with children is truly amazing! She engages children on the need
to help homeless animals as well as their own pets. She encourages
students to think of pet ownership as an important responsibility, and to
be aware of our nation’s huge pet overpopulation problem. I look forward
to having Barb and Rocket back next year!

From another 3rd Grade teacher :

You had a huge impact on my class. Thank you for your visit !

From all the 3rd Grade teachers at Noah Webster Basic School:

Barb and Rocket’s visit to our third grade class was amazing.  Students enjoyed interacting with Rocket and learning how to take better care of animals.  Students learned a lot and have applied this knowledge by writing persuasive essays on stopping animal abuse for our school’s creative writing contest.
